Perfect World International Launches Redemption Expansion 5w5a45
Perfect World launched its latest expansion today titled 'Redemption'. It introduces new zones, a 6th Boundary tier, a Dungeon Bestiary, Sacred Realm Phantom mini-bosses, some graphical updates, and more.
“PWI’s North American launch was the first project the Perfect World Entertainment team worked on after the company’s creation, so it holds a special place for our team,” said Yoon Im, senior vice president of game publishing at Perfect World Entertainment. “Over the last decade, millions of players have enjoyed PWI’s magical world, sharing experiences, sieging dungeons and showcasing their favorite mounts. Ten years is a significant milestone for an MMO and we are honored to have the of our fans for so long.”
Perfect World is also celebrating it's 10th anniversary this month with various in game events and festivities. The game originally launched in North America back in September 2008, and helped popularize free to play games in the West. Check out the 10 year anniversary infographic the game released:
It's almost summer, which means that it's also almost time for summer events. Perfect World Entertainment announced its entire lineup of summer events earlier today, with many of its games set to hold festivities of some sort. The list is as follows.
Neverwinter (all platforms)
The Protector's Jubilee will be held from June 20th to June 27th, allowing players a chance to earn exclusive rewards, such as a Jubilee Unicorn or a Shadow Dragon Throne, by completing "special quests."
The Summer Festival will be held from July 6th to July 27th, giving players a chance to earn exclusive rewards, such as the Fungal Flail Snail and Summer Snail Flail mounts, by "competing in classic contests." Guilds will be able to celebrate the summer solstice by "participating in a feast held in their Great Hall."
Star Trek Online (all platforms)
The Lohlunat Festival will be held from June 8th to July 20th, giving players a chance to earn rewards, such as pets and costumes, by completing various challenges.
PC players will be given a chance to participate in "The Biathalon," a new event that "combines hoverboard racing with floater flying."
Champions Online (PC)
The Patriot's Celebration will be held from June 29th to July 14th in celebration of both Canada Day and Independence Day. During the celebration, players will be able to queue up for "the Red Winter Alert," which will task them with fighting off an enemy that wants to start another Cold War. Defeating said enemy will reward them with Patriot Tokens, which can be used to obtain various rewards, such as the Orbiting Star Aura and a Valiant Emote.
Perfect World International (PC)
The Area 52 event will be held from June 28th to July 12th, giving players a chance to hunt "extra-terrestrial life forms" for a chance at earning "a special statue for their Homestead."
The Returned Boss Event will be held from June 19th to June 23rd, giving players a chance to kill some of the game's toughest bosses for a chance to earn low level Dragon Orbs, sealed flyers, and other rewards.
The Wraith Hunters event will be held from July 5th to July 19th, allowing players to pick up a quest that tasks them with killing one of five random bosses. Rewards for completing the quest include a "Wraith Hunter's Insignia" that can be exchanged for a "War Avatar Pack S."
The Tsuchun's Treasure event will be held from June 14th to June 28th, giving players a chance to go treasure hunting for points that can be exchanged for rewards.
The Pinata Bosses event will be held from July 17th to July 21st, offering players a chance to hunt "special bosses" that will drop Giant Festival Coins. These coins can be used to obtain various prizes, such as Mirage Celestones, Socket Stones, and more.
Swordsman Online (PC)
The second season of the Jianghu Tournament, Swordsman's PvP tournament, begins June 8th.
Swordsman's Divinity content update goes live on June 22nd, bringing with it new instances, levels, maps, and weapons.
The third season of Dungeon Marathon, Swordsman's dungeon running contest, will be held from June 29th to July 26th.
Swordsman's third anniversary celebration will be held from June 6th to July 7th.
Forsaken World (PC)
Forsaken World's sixth anniversary celebration, including hide and seek events with the GMs and raffles, will be held from June 1st to June 30th.
The Summer Games event will be held from August 7th to September 1st, pitting the game's servers against each other in weekly competitions.
The My.com Launcher is no longer the only MMO-focused gaming platform with integrated streaming capabilities. Perfect World Entertainment announced today that its Arc Games platform has been updated with a new feature called Arc Streaming, allowing anyone with a Twitch to stream games on the Arc Games platform using the Arc client. It even lets you set the name of your stream, use your webcam on stream and view Twitch chat in-game.
You can find more information about Arc Streaming here. While I'm fairly attached to XSplit myself and will probably never use it because of that, the addition of streaming features in more gaming clients can only help to make streaming more accessible to the average .
Perfect World Entertainment announced today that it is putting tons of items in its games on sale for Black Friday. Titles that have items on sale this Black Friday include Forsaken World, Livelock, Neverwinter, Perfect World International, Star Trek Online, and Swordsman Online. The list of sales is rather long, so I've included it as a quote below.
Additionally, those who buy Zen between now and November 28th at 11:59 PM PST will be granted an additional 15-25% extra Zen, depending on how much they purchase. Perfect World International Heads To Mobile 2a2k1a
Perfect World International, the free-to-play MMORPG steeped in Chinese mythology, is headed to mobile devices after being shown off at Tokyo Game Show 2016.
The game is still early in development, though complete enough to reveal a playable demo. It appears to be a direct port of the PC version to iOS and Android, featuring housing, large zones, and flying.
Perfect World International recently celebrated its 8 year anniversary; it's a bit surprising to see a mobile port for an 8-year-old game. But, it must be performing well enough in its home turf and Japan to establish itself on mobile, though the market is becoming increasingly competitive.
Perfect World Mobile should release Q4 2017. No word on whether the game will see an English release.

Perfect World International Begins 8th Anniversary Celebrations 5p4y4f
Perfect World International has begun its 8th Anniversary celebrations and, if the last year has taught us anything, eight years online is a pretty big deal. It's fortunate, then, that Perfect World Entertainment has a number of events lined up to celebrate the milestone.
First up is the Barter Event. The Barter Event will consist of five week-long sessions in which players must barter for items that the Perfect World International team puts up for grabs using only other items. The player with the best bid wins the items.
Next up is the Logo Contest. Players will be required to design a new version of the Perfect World International logo. The three best logos will be given different types of Dragon Orbs. The team's favorites will also be showcased over the course of the event. The best logos and those showcased will be given 100 Event Gold. At the end of the event, every logo submitted will be put into "a very special mosaic."
