The game is built on the powerful ForgeLight Engine and will feature realistic graphics and lighting with a day and night system. EverQuest Next will launch with a unique progression system with no "levels" and a class system with 40 classes where players can mix and match abilities across classes to create a unique character. EverQuest Next was cancelled.

EverQuest Next Additional Information
Developer: Daybreak Game Company
Game Engine: Forgelight Engine
Platforms: Windows & Playstation 4
Game Designer(s): Darrin Mherson
Composer(s): Jeremy Soule
Development History / Background:
EverQuest Next was developed by the San Diego, California based Daybreak Game Company using the Forgelight Engine. The game was fully revealed to the world at PAX East 2013, but development for the game was hinted at years ago in the EverQuest 10th Anniversary Book in 2009. The game is split into two segments - a typical quest-driven MMORPG component called EverQuest Next and a special world building tool called EverQuest Next Landmark, which later just became "Landmark". Landmark isn't a traditional MMORPG, but rather just an online Sandbox environment where players can design structures and other things for use within EverQuest Next. The game was cancelled in early 2016.
