All The Myriad Ways To Earn Marks In Revelation Online

Many of Revelation Online's myriad ways to advance feel like navigating a maze on paper and earning marks is no different, going by the latest guide posted to the official RO website. What are marks? Marks are items you socket into your gear to enhance your gear's stats, improving your damage and defense against either players or monsters:

• Mana Wrench: Demon Break. Extra % damage done to monsters.
• Spell Resistance: Demon Defence. Extra % defense against monsters.
• Break Essence: Player Break. Extra % damage done to other players.
• Defense Essence: Player Defence. Extra % defense against players.

How do you got about earning marks? Several ways. Participating in PvP battlegrounds rewards Valor points; earn enough Valor points and you'll win a Battle League Reward Chest which contains marks. 

Or, if PvE is more your flavor, you can tackle World Bosses which can drop both PvP and PvE marks. Taking them on is easy. Even though their called "World Bosses" you challenge them from your Event Window ("O").

Once you earn your marks they're easy to equip. Just slap them on from the general skills tab. But you can also save your marks and then combine them; you'll need 4 marks of the same type and same rank. "To open the combining system, open your inventory and click the first icon which has the appearance of a circular gemstone next to the hammer." Easy enough.

But wait there's more! It's like slaying the dragon to get the key to the outhouse, and then finding out the key is in another castle. More mark slots can be unlocked by heading to the Curious Shop and using Curious Beads and Ausgyth Points to purchase a Dragonspike.

And finally, we've got PvE contracts:

You can obtain tradable PVE/PVP Marks visiting Guardian Grocer Borfen Zur, which you can purchase with Demonslayer Points and visiting Imperial City Advanced Grocer Borfen Non, where you can purchase PVP Marks using your Army coins which you obtain through Battlegrounds. To get better PVP Marks you will need an item known as Imperial Society Shop Rune which you can only obtain by gaining PVP and Demonslayer Chests.

Marks are clearly going to play a big role when it comes to min/maxing your character for either PvE play or PvP. It'll surely take an investment to realize all of your gear's full potential.
