Old School MMORPG Ashen Empires’ Steam Launch Has Been Delayed

Long-running MMORPG Ashen Empire’s arrival on Steam has been delayed due to “unforeseen issues” related to the process of launching on the platform. A new release date has yet to be announced although developer Iron Will Games is aiming to get it up and running on Steam next week or the week after.

For now, Iron Will has brought back its token sale on PayPal and will be running several in-game events and giveaways over the next few days.

Ashen Empires, formerly Dransik, is an old-school 2D isometric MMO that first launched in 2002 by Asylumsoft as a pay-to-play upgraded version of the original Ultima V-inspired Dransik game. The game was later sold to TKO Software who then renamed it to Ashen Empires and was sold back to Iron Will Games, the original developer, in 2004. The game went free-to-play in 2009 and had appeared to have gone into maintenance mode as of January 2019 until it started receiving regular updates again in February 2020.
