Astroneer Brings Back Project C.H.E.E.R. As Devolver Digital Snaps Up Its Developer
It promises to be another reward-filled December in Astroneer as the multiplayer space sandbox game brings back Project C.H.E.E.R. until January 2nd. Throughout the event, players will be able to earn event points by packaging and shipping out toys and debris from container wrecks that can be found in several planets and moons across the procedural-generated star system.
Points can be exchanged for the Holiday Throwback Bundle, which contains cosmetic rewards from previous years, the new Rockstar Palette, and this year’s top-tier reward, the Hard Suit cosmetic. As they ship out packages, players will also earn various items, resources, and materials to help speed up their recovery and delivery efforts.
You oxygen lines will also light up with a festive glow for the duration of the event to help you get into the spirit of gift retrieval and distribution this holiday season.
Meanwhile, developer System Era Softworks also teases big things in store for the game following its acquisition by Serious Sam developer Devolver Digital as its new first-party studio last month. The studio promises to share its full 2024 development roap soon.
“We still have a bit of rough weather to work through so we aren’t quiiiite ready yet to share more details about the plan,” System Era said. “Rest assured we have new items, missions, and gameplay planned to ship throughout the year.”
More information can be found on the Astroneer Steam page.
