BitCraft Online Demo Debuts at Steam Next Fest Ahead of Early Access Launch

BitCraft Online, an sandbox MMORPG from Clockwork Labs, will be part of the Steam Next Fest lineup from June 9–16, 2025. During this week-long event, players will have their first chance to try the game through a special pre-release demo, just ahead of its Early Access release planned for June 20, 2025.

BitCraft Online aims to carve out its own space in the MMO landscape with a player-driven focus on crafting, exploration, and community building. The game features a stylized open world where players can gather resources, construct settlements, and interact with evolving social and economic systems. This approach places BitCraft among a new wave of MMOs emphasizing emergent gameplay and collaborative world-building, a trend seen in recent indie and mainstream releases alike. Unlike other MMORPGs, BitCraft will also be open source.

The Steam Next Fest demo will let players experience several core mechanics, including:

  • Resource gathering and an in-depth crafting system
  • Settlement building with options for both group and solo play
  • Exploration across a procedurally generated open world
  • An early look at social and economic systems that will expand in full release
  • Professions available up to level 20
  • A preview of the Empire system

Following the demo, BitCraft Online will move into Early Access on June 20, 2025. The development team plans to release regular content updates and improvements based on player , a common approach for modern MMOs looking to build strong communities from launch. BitCraft s a growing list of indie MMOs experimenting with persistent worlds and player agency, reflecting broader shifts in the genre.
