Destiny Of Ancient Kingdoms Gives You A Chance To Rule

Launched late last year, Destiny of Ancient Kingdoms is said to be the first MMORPG developed in South Africa. The game takes place in a fairly generic fantasy setting and gameplay largely seems to be standard fare, but one key feature stands out among the rest of them: In Destiny of Ancient Kingdoms, you can rule a kingdom.

The Greenlight page describes the monarch system as follows.

  • Rule your Kingdom: Become the first to claim the throne as King of your Kingdom. Take control of the lives of your citizens by throwing trouble makers in jail and silencing players with a foul mouth. Reward hardworking players by releasing extra experience for their good behavior.
  • Start a revolution: The King can be impeached by players of the Kingdom for being a tyrannous leader who doesn’t fulfill his or her duties.
  • Kingdom Structure: the King should choose his Kingdom officials wisely as they will represent his leadership to the rest of the Kingdom by using their special privileges to maintain order amongst citizens (players). Kingdom Officers receive a daily allowance for defending the Kingdom from foreign players

Those that don't take part in ruling a kingdom are expected to take out other kingdoms' players. Doing so will grant players "Honor Points," which can be traded for various items. Moreover, the more they distinguish themselves in battle, the closer they will come to receiving an "official position" in their kingdoms.

Additionally, the game claims a "unique character class and race system" in which the class you choose determines what race you play as "because the different races have mastered unique skill sets." It is stated that "over 2000 different species of monsters" live within the game's "more than 60 different maps."
