Battlestate Games Announces Standalone Escape From Tarkov Arena Game
Multiplayer first-person shooter Escape from Tarkov is getting a new standalone multiplayer arena spinoff called Escape from Tarkov Arena. The game will feature a more action-packed and condensed deathmatch-style format as opposed to the prolonged looting, shooting, and extraction mechanics of the original game.
“Escape from Tarkov Arena is a standalone game project - a session-based multiplayer first-person shooter for PC with all the known and beloved hardcore game mechanics of Escape from Tarkov. Players will take part in gladiatorial battles in various arenas of the city of Tarkov, organized by a mysterious group of Arena Masters led by the Host.”
The game will also come with its own PvE and PvP game modes and leaderboard and separate weapon and gear unlocks. Players who own the original game, however, will be able to play as their main profile characters.
Escape from Tarkov Arena will launch as a paid DLC but will be available for free to those who already own or purchase the Edge of Darkness Edition (priced at $140). Developer Battlestate Games has yet to announce a price and release date for the standalone game although they’re looking to start closed beta testing sometime this fall.
