Genshin Impact Version 5.7 Arrives June 18 with New Characters and Story Progression

Genshin Impact, the popular open-world action RPG from HoYoverse, is gearing up for its Version 5.7 update, "A Space and Time for You," set to launch on June 18. The update brings significant additions to both the game's roster and ongoing story, including the much-anticipated arrival of Skirk as a playable character and further developments in the saga of the Traveler twins.

• New Playable Character: Skirk – Known as Childe’s enigmatic master, Skirk enters the game as a 5-star character with dual combat styles. She uses Abyssal power masked as Cryo and can switch between sustained damage with enhanced Normal Attacks or powerful area-of-effect Cryo via her Elemental Burst. Her mechanics rely on a unique resource, Serpent’s Subtlety, rather than traditional Elemental Energy.
• Dahlia s the Roster – Another addition is Dahlia, a 4-star Hydro character and Deacon of the Church of Favonius. He offers team shielding and attack speed boosts, and his skills interact with both Hydro and Cryo teammates for added synergy.
• Event Wishes – The first half of the update features banners for Skirk, Dahlia, and a Shenhe rerun. The second half will see reruns for the Pyro Archon Mavuika and Emilie.
• Archon Quest Progression – The new chapter continues the story of the Traveler and their sibling, with the Abyss Order mobilizing in Natlan. Players can expect appearances from characters like Dainsleif and Mavuika as the narrative delves deeper into the conflict.
• Sumeru Akademiya Event – A new simulated adventure game will challenge players with tactical team-building and randomized encounters. Completing the event grants rewards and the opportunity to invite Sethos to the party.
• Permanent Mode: Stygian Onslaught – This new combat mode features rotating bosses and escalating difficulty, offering Artifacts and a new item, Dust of Enlightenment, which allows for re-rolling substat enhancements on max-level Artifacts.
• Travelers' Tales: Gilded Chapter – New side stories will showcase various characters across Teyvat, providing lighter moments between major quests.
• Game Optimizations – Mobile players will see expanded resource management options, and Fragile Resin can now be used for tripled rewards in certain Domains. Additional Envisaged Echoes challenges for Raiden Shogun and Shenhe are also incoming.
