Netease Games Announces New AAA MMO by Greg Street (Ex Riot MMO Project Designer) Led Studio

Netease Games announced today that they'll be launching a new AAA MMO from Greg Street's Fantastic Pixel Castle studio. Greg Street was the lead designer of the World of Warcraft. The game is currently codenamed 'Ghost' and will be set in a fantasy universe.

"With Fantastic Pixel Castle and Ghost, we want to demonstrate our commitment to open communication and development in front of players," said Greg Street, studio head of Fantastic Pixel Castle. "MMOs are arguably one of the most challenging genres of games to make, but we have some big advantages. We are a fully remote studio, allowing us to hire the best game developers, and we plan to stay small, so that we can iterate on our design quickly. We also want to show the game early and often to the community and make sure we are on the right track to incorporate constant . This is possible because NetEase Games is a strategic partner that understands our vision, and gives us the creative autonomy, resources and to be successful."

Beyond the theme of the game and the studio behind it, there's not much information available just yet. Still, it's good to see a new a new AAA MMORPG in development. More information will be revealed on November 8th at 10am PST in a Q&A livestream on Fantastic Pixel Castle's Twitch.
