Orcs Must Die! Unchained Enters Open Beta

Following a year and a half in Closed Beta, Orcs Must Die! Unchained has finally entered Open Beta. Unchained is the free-to-play edition of the Orcs Must Die! series, bringing the game's zany, action/tower defense hybrid antics to a more online-focused setting. Despite its free-to-play nature, the developers boast that the game follows "the grand Orcs Must Die tradition."

The game features the series' signature tower defense-style gameplay, as well as a 5v5 PvP mode called "Siege." Siege pits players minions against each other in "a frantic game of 5v5 minion tug-of-war." There are 8 PvE maps and 2 Siege maps. Players can take on both modes with one of "dozens of unique and powerful heroes." Traps and various other items can be crafted and upgraded using materials gathered during PvE.
