Revelation Online's Guild Vs. Guild PvP Detailed
With My.com has seen fit to unveil details about some of those features. In its latest blog post, the company discusses Guild Wars and Castle Sieges, both of which involve large-scale guild vs. guild combat.
Guild Wars are fairly simple. Guilds can spend 200,000 of their funds to declare war on another guild. Once war has been declared, the guild that had war declared on it can respond by accepting the declaration of war and entering either 50v50 or 30v30 combat—or they can surrender. Once the war begins, players in each guild will receive a mark next to their names that denotes that they are allowed to fight their opponents anywhere, including in cities, without being attacked by guards. Larger battles can also take place, but they cannot take place within cities.
Castle Sieges are weekly events that are held in the open world. Guilds are given a chance to fight over a total of 12 locations, including three castles and nine "additional lands." These locations are placed in varying environments; the examples given are an underwater castle and a floating castle, the latter of which "can only be attacked by using aerial combat." As these battles take place in the open world, anyone can take part and it is possible for there to be "several thousand players" fighting over a location at a time.
In order to capture a castle, the attackers "must destroy a special crystal in the center of the castle" and replace it with one that belongs to them. The guild that successfully captures the castle will be able to place their guild banner in the city that the castle is in. Each member of the guild will be able to choose "a special reward" that is determined by "the importance of the captured base." Furthermore, any guild that owns a castle will be given a chance at fighting "the most dangerous boss out in the open world."
