SEGA Unveils Huge ‘SuperGame’ Cloud Gaming And NFT Project

Japanese video game giant SEGA are moving full steam ahead with their plans to develop a their earlier qualms about making the jump. In an internal interview on the company’s recruitment website, executives teased their “SuperGame” project, a five-year plan that involves forays into cloud gaming, blockchain technology, and NFTs among other things.

According to translations by Video Game Chronicles, the ambitious project will encom the development of multiple AAA titles that make use of SEGA’s wide range of technologies. The titles will be big multi-platform releases with several already in development.

Producer Masayoshi Kikuchi also described NFTs and cloud gaming as a “natural extension for the future of gaming” and that they’re developing SuperGame with the goal of seeing how far different games can be connected with each other, which sounds as if it’s another take on the metaverse concept.

Details on the project are still sparse but it looks like SEGA is well and truly committed to incorporating blockchain games into their portfolio.
