Shanda Games Begins Selling Dragon Quest X China Beta Access, Sells Out Within 24 Hours
While a Western release has still yet to be confirmed, Shanda Games recently began selling access to an ongoing Dragon Quest X China Beta test. There are two editions available, the standard edition, which costs around $10, and the Collector's Edition, which costs around $30. Both offer access to the Beta test, which started yesterday and will run until November 4th, as well as subscription time and, in the case of the Collector's Edition, "premiere props." As both packages offer subscription time, it seems safe to assume that Dragon Quest X China will be a subscription title like the Japanese version, rather than free-to-play.
The character level cap for this test will be 50. The level cap for each job will be 30. Five races and six jobs will be available. Controller will be included and Shanda Games is even sending each tester that requests one a free controller.
Unfortunately, however, all Beta access packs sold out within 24 hours. It remains to be seen if Shanda Games will make more available as the test progresses. In the meantime, however, if you happen to use the QQ messenger, there is a neat Dragon Quest X-themed expression pack available for it.
