Papaya Play Will Be Relaunching Tree Of Savior Just Days Before Diablo 4’s Release

Papaya Play apparently isn’t afraid to go toe to toe with Diablo 4 as the Texas-based publisher announces the re-launch of its own online ARPG, Tree of Savior, just days before Blizzard’s newest entry into the genre goes live.

The global Popolion server is set to go live on May 30th, offering players a fresh start with a bundle of goodies awaiting those who pre-ed for the re-launch. This new server will be separate from the existing English edition managed by IMC Games on Steam and will focus on catering to English-speaking players in North America as the server is physically located in Quebec.

It’s important to note that the new server will be separate from the existing English edition managed by IMC Games on Steam. It will, however, offer content up to Episode 15-1 which will include the full range of playable classes available in the IMC Games version. Papaya Play’s version will also require players to a dedicated client.

One interesting aspect of Papaya's approach is their intention to streamline the overall gameplay experience by removing elements and mechanics that only serve to hinder free-to-play progress. These include the removal of excessive level boosts, overpowered gear, and pre-leveled characters. Instead, the publisher promises to introduce experience events to keep progression more balanced and engaging.

Obviously, Tree of Savior will have a tough time competing with Diablo 4. Props to Papaya Play thought for choosing to not back down from a fight.
