Uncharted Waters Online Launches On PS4 In Japan

The Japanese publisher of Uncharted Waters Online just launched a PS4 version of the aging naval MMORPG two days ago. This is most likely a port of the PS3 version launched in 2010 created in an attempt to stay current. From the Google Translated description of the PS4 version, it seems that this version of the game also requires a subscription. ing and playing the game through the PS4 client will give you 14 days free, after which you will be required to pay to continue playing. This is converse to the North American server, which is free-to-play.

Unfortunately, it is unlikely that the game will ever come to PlayStation consoles in North America. The PS3 version has been out for five years and the current hosts, OGPlanet, seem to have no interest in bringing the console versions over to North America. A quick Google search seems to show that the Japanese version is also IP blocked.

Should you want more information, you can head over to the official website or the PlayStation Store pages, linked above. You will need a Japanese PSN logged in in order to view those pages from outside of Japan.
