Veterans Online Is A New F2P Top-Down Shooter Coming This Fall To Steam
Veterans Online. The game features cartoony graphics with a strong Metal Slug vibe and promises action-packed 5vs5 arena brawler gameplay with a variety of missions, modes, and maps.
“Veterans Online is an online multiplayer action shooter that puts players’ tactical battle skills to the test. Starting by creating and customizing their soldier, players are then assigned to one of the battlegrounds, with a team. Every battleground is unique and features a different game mode with different goals. As soon as the soldiers are deployed to their battlefield they must choose between a variety of light and heavy weapons, including smaller utility weapons such as traps or healing spray, and then leverage their firepower and tactical battle skills to defeat opponents. Team play holds massive benefits as players can adapt to the play styles and strategic advantages - and disadvantages - offered by each weapon and each battlefield.”
“Veterans Online combines many of our favorite elements in an action shooter to make a really fast-paced experience that relies heavily on tactical skill and reaction speed,” said Nuked Cockroach Creative Director Mostafa Dhaouadi in the official press release. “We’ve designed the game with esports in mind, balancing competitiveness and fun, allowing for fast-action team gameplay that uses the individual skills of each player. You also can’t buy advantages, so everyone starts on the same playing field.”
Veterans Online is scheduled for Early Access launch on Steam this Fall. The Early Access version will feature fully customizable characters including skins, mounts, tags, and taunts. Players will also have access to two game modes: Capture the Flag and Territory Control, along with a large selection of weapons, grenades, traps, and special items. The devs also promised regular game updates including new maps, missions, and mods throughout the game’s Early Access phase.
