Wizard101 Celebrates 7th Birthday, Gives Status Update
Wizard101 is seven years old. Can you believe that? I am having a hard time believing it, myself. It's been a while since I first tried out KingsIsle's turn-based, card-based wizard MMO but it hardly feels as if it has been seven years. In order to celebrate, the team at KingsIsle are giving away seven free gifts. Using the promo code "happy7thbday" here, players will unlock an Origami Party Crane Pet, Birthday Hat, Confetti Cannon, Major Fishing Elixir, Ultra Dandelion Seed, Birthday Cake Pet Snack, and Huge Ice Cream Pet Snack. It's an odd assortment but it is all free. Limited time quests, the Five B.O.X.E.S. and Lost Pages, will be available until next Wednesday, as well as free PvP tournaments occurring until then.
Additionally, Pirate101 and Wizard101 teams have combined into the "MMO Live Team," working together on all live MMOs from this point forward.
As for the game itself, a new PvP Age has just begun, with a clean slate and improved rewards, including level 100 items. Ultra dungeons are here to provide a greater challenge. Ultra pets and ultra seeds are also making an appearance. All of this is a part of the "Ultra Summer of 2015" that is occurring because the team were able to fast track some of the features that have been requested.
Future plans at this point are fairly vague, though, teasing only this postcard. Christmas zone maybe? With penguins? Guess we will have to wait and see!
