Heroes of Dire Overview

Heroes of Dire is a free-to-play dark fantasy MMORPG available on Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, and Linux, featuring cross-platform play for all devices from the developer of The Infinite Black. Assemble a team of fighters to make war with other guilds, monsters, and players, utilizing archetypes such as Mage, Paladin, and Healer. Each fighter is unique, generated procedurally to diversify their names, stories, stats, titles, and equipment, creating characters such as The One-Eyed Knight, The Laughing Horror, Georgia the Peach, and more. Take turns with the enemy fighting on a grid battlefield, where turn order is determined by the time-cost of each action. Efficiently perform attacks and movement for strategic superiority, participating in battles with as few as 2 fighters or as many as 32 fighters at once. Borrow shared fighters from your friends and guildmates and take them into battle, where they are controlled by the game's AI unless the owner of the character is online and chooses to enter the battle with you. The game also features live Dungeon Masters that interact with the players, offering live-crafted events, fighter name changes, weapon enhancement, merchants with unique treasures, and more to make the game feel alive.

Heroes of Dire Key Features:

  • Turn-based Tactical Combat – fight on a grid with turn order determined by action cost, adding a significant amount of strategy and depth to gameplay.
  • Millions of Fighters – recruit a wide variety of randomly generated fighters that span six classes, ten races, fifty weapon classes, and four armor classes.
  • Live Dungeon Masters – participate in live game events hosted by Dungeon Masters who can appear as blacksmiths and merchants with unique items to craft and sell.
  • Shared Fighters – borrow fighters from your friends and guildmates, which can be AI-controlled or controlled by your friend for a co-op experience.
  • Guilds and PvP Warfare – a guild and participate in massive guild vs. guild battles for territory, or partake in smaller-scale PvP battles to climb the rankings.
