Rusty Hearts Overview

Rusty Hearts was a free-to-play action MMORPG with brawler elements. Play as one of four characters—Frantz, Angela, Tude, and Natasha—that are the protagonists of the Rusty Hearts story, each with their own weapon specialization. Tude, for example, specializes in fist-based attacks and can use Gauntlets, Claws, and Demon Hands in combat. The characters are gender-locked, although every character had an opposite gendered counterpart available in the game’s cash shop that was released with in-game events. The game’s combat system shined for its fluidity, which was reminiscent of an old school console brawler. Players could perform combo attacks, filling up their combo meter to allow them to unleash powerful special attacks that chained in with regular abilities and added a skill element to the game. Players could also block and grab, allowing them to control the game’s playing field and take on more difficult challenges with friends. The game is similar to the popular Dungeon Fighter Online, thanks to its blend of brawler combat and an MMO-styled hub city where players could pick up NPC quests and meet up with friends to form four-player parties. Rusty Hearts also featured PvP at level 10, which allowed players to enter different game modes and fight other players in team deathmatch or free-for-all style, offering loot rewards that help with the single-player campaign.
