Civilization 6 Is Free To Play On Steam This Weekend And On Sale At 90% Off Until March 7
If you’ve yet to play Civilization 6 or any Civilization game for that matter, then you might want to block off your weekend as the 4X strategy game is free-to-play until Monday, February 26. The free-play campaign includes access to the core game. That includes roughly eight years of updates and free playable civilizations that should last you at least a few months, if the free-play period was that long.
The first Civilization game came out in 1991 and is one of the pioneers of the 4X genre, an acronym used to describe games where you “Explore” the game world, “Expand” your empire, “Exploit” resources, and “Exterminate” the competition. More recent Civilization titles, however, now allow you to win through diplomatic prowess or cultural subjugation. Along the way, you’ll get to engage in politics and technological research as you micro-manage your army, economy, and the overall happiness of your citizens.
“Civilization 6 is the newest installment in the award winning Civilization Franchise. Expand your empire, advance your culture and go head-to-head against history’s greatest leaders. Will your civilization stand the test of time?”
The game is also on sale at 90% off on Steam, bringing the price down from $59.99 to just $5.99 until March 7. If you’re looking to jump into the eight-year old game, now’s the best time to do so.
