Destiny 2 Cheat Makers Settle Copyright Infringement Lawsuit For $13.5 Million

After getting a copyright infringement suit against last month, Bungie is now on the cusp of receiving a $13.5 million settlement from another group of cheat makers for alleged copyright infringement. The lawsuit was filed back in August against Elite Boss Tech, 11020781 Canada Inc., and several other unnamed defendants.

The settlement amount was computed based on statutory damages amounting to $2000 for each time the software was ed which, according to TorrentFreak, was exactly 6,765 times. Elite Boss Tech is also being slapped with a permanent injunction that will preclude the company from further developing any software that infringes on the copyright of any software owned by Bungie.

The presiding judge has yet to sign off on the settlement but, at this point, there’s probably no reason why the judge won’t approve it and we can count it as a win for Bungie.
