Social Sandbox Game Eco Gears Up For Full Release By Year’s End Or Early 2025

It’s been six years since take better care of our planet.

The studio is now working on the last few major updates for the eco-friendly sandbox game in preparation for its full release by the end of the year or early 2025.

“Early Access has been an amazing way to develop this experimental new genre of a living government/economy/ecosystem mashed together and run by real people, we’ve got so much great from the community, as well as funding to let us build out the extent of our vision,” Strange Loop said. “With our biggest update ever – ‘Eco 10’ – out the door, it’s time to set our eyes on the next big milestone: Eco V1, exiting Early Access!”

To that end, the team is now shifting its focus to polishing and improving existing gameplay systems rather than adding new ones. Throughout the year, players can look forward to more profession content, additional upgrades, crafting and recycling system improvements, and updates to the garbage system.

Strange Loop also assured players that it’ll continue to churn out updates even after the game makes it out of early access. “[…] Things will not slow down, in fact they will likely speed up, as we have lots more plans we want to do after that,” the studio said. “Trains for example will be a big one post v1, which was neck and neck with Animal Husbandry as the marquee feature, but we decided it’s better to stay focused on just one of the two and so will make Trains in an early update post v1.”
