Wayfinder Rolls Out Echoes Update To Founder’s Pack Owners And Gets Steam Deck Verified

Wayfinder’s huge but highly controversial buy-to-play multiplayer-optional title. The upside is that it also removed all forms of microtransactions from the game, expanded the game world, added a new character, and improved virtually every gameplay system in the game.

“Items previously available through microtransactions will now be earnable through gameplay, including characters, weapons, and armor sets,” Airship Syndicate previously explained. “Priced at $24.99 USD, this one-time purchase includes all present and future Early Access content, with the price set to increase after the game leaves Early Access.”

The world map is now three times its original size with new points-of-interest and six new hunts for players to take on. The update also introduced a new talent system, randomized weapon drops, variable armor stats, multiple difficulty options, and a new character named Grendel.

The game itself will return to Steam with a box price and the Echoes update in tow on June 11. PlayStation 5 s will get the update later this summer followed by Wayfinder’s launch on Xbox Series X|S alongside the end of its early access phase in fall.

“We cherish the world our team has created and the characters we've introduced to our players, and we don't want them to be lost in the Gloom. Our goal is to leave players with a product they can enjoy indefinitely,” the studio said. “This shift enables the game to exist perpetually. Players can it to play solo or enjoy co-op gameplay with up to two friends.”

Wayfinder has also recently been verified for Steam Deck, giving players the option to take it with them on the go.
