World Of Warcraft: Season Of Discovery Phase 2 Adds New Runes And A New Dungeon
Season of Discovery content with the release of its first major post-launch update. The update introduced a new batch of build-changing ability runes, bumped up the level cap to level 40, and opened the doors to the new Gnomeregan raid.
“Gnomeregan is a 10-player raid dungeon consisting of six bosses–which includes one additional new boss,” Blizzard says. “Each of the previous five bosses have been redesigned to present new challenges within the raid dungeon. This dungeon will also introduce a new world buff.”
In addition to the new dungeon, players can also take on a bunch of new quests and a new profession quest chain to obtain new loot, class sets, and materials that can be used to craft several new recipes. The Blood Moon PvP event is also live in Stranglethorn Vale, featuring new PvP mechanics and new class-specific item rewards.
“During this event, killing players will allow you to earn currency which can be traded for various rewards. While you can still group-up with your allies for the event, the Blood Moon is a harsh mistress and will punish those in raid groups,” warns the devs.
You can speak to the Zandalari Emissary to opt out of the event and its rewards, but general PvP rules will still apply.
Phase two also marks the removal of the Gold Dragon Kill Point system in line with Blizzard’s new outlook of trying new things. Players below level 25 will also enjoy a 50% boost to XP to help them catch up with other players who are already working their way up to the new level cap.
