Zems Alpha Begins Ahead Of Kickstarter On Monday

Zems is a new online collectible card game from Impulse Limited. It features tactical combat on a hex-based battlefield. Various cards allow you to "alter the weather to achieve victory," taking advantage of the weather in a way that strategy games rarely allow you to. The card featured in the screenshot above, for example, allows you to "Stun a Wet Space," as in one that has become wet from rain.

Zems entered alpha today. Players can sign up for the game's alpha on the official website right now and hope that they get a key to start dueling through weather manipulation. The alpha launch is occurring a mere three days before their Kickstarter. I am inclined to believe that—if you aren't lucky enough to get into the alpha—you will be able to back the game for access.
